When the Goddess Rises: Venus, Inanna, and the Sacred Rebirth of the Soul

For every woman who has walked through her own underworld…
This moment in the sky is mirroring something sacred in you.

Venus has risen as the morning star.
After weeks of invisibility, she returns—reborn from the cosmic depths.
And whether you knew it or not, your own rebirth may be unfolding right alongside her.

Venus, Inanna, and the Sacred Descent

This planetary cycle is no ordinary dance.
For thousands of years, it has been mirrored in myth—most famously in the Sumerian story of Inanna, the Queen of Heaven and Earth.

Inanna descends through seven gates into the Underworld, stripping away her crown, jewels, and symbols of power until she stands naked before her sister, Ereshkigal, and dies.

But this death is not the end.
It is initiation. Rebirth. A new cycle of sovereignty.

Venus, like Inanna, disappears from the sky in her retrograde phase—symbolically “dying”—before reappearing as the morning star.

She returns not as she was, but as who she has become.
Aligned. Initiated. Embodied.

Sophia – The Wisdom Beneath the Descent

And then there is my beloved Sophia.

She is the divine feminine wisdom behind all creation—
the living intelligence that holds space for descent, fragmentation, and return.

While Inanna walks the spiral of transformation,
Sophia IS the spiral.

In Gnostic texts, Sophia too “falls” into matter—longing to create, to know, to bring spirit into form.

Her journey mirrors yours and mine:
the forgetting, the fragmentation, the re-membering.

The descent of soul into the density of life…
and the return of light through conscious embodiment.

Together, Inanna and Sophia weave a complete mythic arc of the feminine—one that called to me to share with you in this very moment.

To descend is not to fall—it is to initiate.
To rise is not to escape—it is to integrate.

What This Means for You, Right Now

This current Venus cycle may be activating you more deeply than you realize.

You might be:

  • Shedding old identities, relationships, or ways of showing up that no longer align

  • Feeling the discomfort of the in-between—no longer who you were, not yet who you are becoming

  • Hearing the whisper: “There is more. And it begins within you.”

This moment is not asking you to push forward.
It is asking you to listen, to remember, and to reclaim.

Sophia invites you to honor the wisdom of your descent.
Inanna reminds you that what you’ve shed was never your true power.
Venus lights the sky with the promise that your return is sacred.
